Fantastic! She is a great writer! She manages to record every little nuance of familial tension or feeling that is going on. Does she write about her own family in her earlier novels (“Behind the Scenes at the Museum”). She is so honest, she is a powerhouse….taking us into what it means to be English, in a real family. This novel starts around 1910 , but “Behind the Scenes at the Museum”, starts in 1951, has a high point in 1953 at The Queen’s Coronation (Yes, Queen Elizabeth the second). The English family she writes about have one of the few televisions in their street. Kate Atkinson takes you inside an English family. Set in Yorkshire, the city of York. Thank you Kate Atkinson, you gave me so much pleasure, but also a deep insight, reading this novel, well actually both the novels I have mentioned. You are talented! A master of the art…Merci x

Classic At Bay by Amy Myers
Amy Myers has written the “Classic” series of lighthearted detective stories, centering around Jack Colby, owner of The Frog’s Hill Classic Car Restoration Company, and part time employee of the Kent Car Crime Unit. Amy Myers has written of her novels setting… ‘The Three Parrots club and some other locations mentioned in the story are also fictitious, but the general area of the North Downs and Greensand Ridge remain as glorious today as they were thousands of years ago’.
These novels would be a great read for car enthusiasts, lovers of England and anyone who appreciates a clever plot.
